From UX/UI Certification to Startup Concept: Designing PizzaBot Geneva
In October 2025, I successfully completed my UX/UI Design Certification, a journey that allowed me to deepen my expertise in user-centered design, user research, wireframing, prototyping, and digital product strategy.
As part of the certification, I was required to develop a final project based on a fictional business case. Rather than redesigning an existing product, I decided to create an entirely new startup concept: PizzaBot Geneva.
A New Vision for Pizza Making
PizzaBot Geneva was imagined as an innovative company specializing in the preparation and sale of pizzas using robotic technology. The concept combines automation, efficiency, and consistency while maintaining the quality standards expected from traditional artisanal pizza makers.
The challenge was not only to present a technological solution but also to address a common concern among consumers: Can food prepared with robots still be fresh, authentic, and high quality?
Designing the Landing Page
The first phase of the project focused on designing a landing page in Figma that would introduce the company, explain its value proposition, and build trust with potential customers.
The objective was clear: demonstrate that technology and quality are not mutually exclusive.
While the robotic preparation process represented the innovative side of the business, I wanted the brand identity to highlight its commitment to local sourcing and premium ingredients.
Putting Local Producers at the Center
One of the key design decisions was to feature photographs and stories of local farmers and producers from the Geneva region who supplied ingredients to PizzaBot Geneva.
By showcasing the people behind the products, the landing page created a strong emotional connection between customers and the brand. Visitors could see where the ingredients came from and understand that, despite the use of advanced robotics, the pizzas were still made with fresh, locally sourced products.
This approach helped communicate transparency, authenticity, and sustainability—values that are increasingly important to modern consumers.
More Than a Design Exercise
This project was much more than a simple landing page design. It was an opportunity to apply UX/UI methodologies to a complete business concept, balancing innovation, user expectations, branding, and storytelling.
The experience reinforced an important lesson: successful digital products are not only about technology. They are about building trust, creating meaningful user experiences, and connecting people to the value behind a brand.
Completing this project was a rewarding milestone in my UX/UI journey and a great opportunity to explore how design can help innovative businesses communicate their vision effectively.
